Raiders fans!

Are you ready for some Raiders football?!!  I am super stoked!  Raiders fever will be alive and well at the Sactown Original Raider Booster Club’s season kickoff party, annual meeting and membership drive on Saturday, August 20th at 4:00 p.m at the Republic Bar and Grill.!!   Raffles!  Door prizes!  And, we’ll have our election of officers and information on upcoming events like the:

  • Season opener tailgate party for the Falcons at Raiders game 9/18 hosted by member Dr. LeBaron Woodyard. (Congratulations to LeBaron for recently getting his PhD!!  )
  • “Train Game” – Amtrak trip and tailgate party to the Kansas City at Raiders game  10/16
  • Raiders game watching parties at the Republic Bar and Grill
  • End of the season/holiday party

We’ll be reaching out to you as we gear up for an awesome party and awesome season!!  Open to all, so bring a friend!

Woodson Wins Commitment to Excellence Award

CTE 2016 on Field presentation

Charles Woodson was presented with the Commitment to Excellence Award during an on field presentation before the Broncos @ Raiders game.  Woodson has won the award two years in a row.  On Saturday, March 12th, at the Oakland Airport Hilton,  Woodson will be honored at the  14th Annual Commitment to Excellence Award dinner.  In addition to honoree Woodson, the event features coaches, current and former players, Raiderettes, Raiders executives, complimentary wine tasting and silent and live auctions.   Mark Davis and Reggie McKenzie both attended the event last year and have  been invited back. 1/26/15 Update:  The CTE Dinner is SOLD OUT!

Invitations to the CTE dinner were mailed 1/4/16 to former event attendees and Sactown members who have requested an invitation. We expect the dinner to be sold out. The dinner will be held Saturday, 3/12/16, at the Oakland Airport Hilton honoring Charles Woodson with the CTE Award.

Cost is $135/person for the general public and $125/person discounted price for members of the Sactown Original Raiders Booster Club, prior attendees, and season ticket holders.

Cost includes:
• Complimentary wine tasting with three wineries and  hors’ d’oeuvres  during the pre-dinner reception
•Three course filet mignon and salmon dinner with complimentary wine
•Live auction
•Silent Auction
•Special drawing
•Raiderettes
•C-Wood
•Current and former players/owner/coaches/Raiders executives invited
•Emcee – JT the Brick
•DJ and dancing after the award presentation
• Discounted CTE attendee hotel rate sold out if you stay overnight at the Hilton.  Rooms are still available at the regular rate.
•Attire: Black tie/formal

Typically, the recipient and people from the Raiders organization do some mingling with the guests during the pre-dinner reception.  However, there is a strict  “no autographs” policy.   Raiders players and personnel interact with attendees knowing  they will not be hounded for autographs. :)

ANNUAL SACTOWN TRAIN GAME AND TAILGATE PART WAS A BLAST!

The Sactown Original Raider Booster Club’s annual  Train Game and Tailgate Party for the Jets at Raiders game was November 1st.   We met at the Amtrak train station parking lot  for club hosted coffee and maybe a little something in it !  Then it was  off to take the train for the 8:10 a.m. departure!!

The tailgate party started at 10:15 a.m. when the train arrived at the Coliseum.  This was a free tailgate party  hosted by the Sactown Original Raider Booster Club for all paid members!  

Thanks to everyone who came out made this event a success! I’m already looking forward to next year!
