2007 Commitment to Excellence Dinner the Best Ever!


Friday night, March 9th, 2007 the Steering Committee for the Booster Clubs of the Oakland Raiders held our 5th annual Commitement to Excellence Award Dinner to honor Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.Each year the Steering Committee comes together and hosts the award dinner to honor the player chosen by his peers who demonstrates Pride and Poise for the Oakland Raiders.

All proceeds from the event benefit Ophans and Widows in Need (OWIN), founded by Dr. Lilian Asomugha.

The Steering Committee would like to thank JT the Brick for his outstanding job as this year’s emcee. JT was a well know presence in the ‘Black Hole’, he now host the Raiders Report and can be heard on Fox Sports Radio.

Raiders Chief Executive Amy Trask, who has been a great supporter of the Steering Committee was once again present. She welcomed all in attendance, she commented on how good it is to hear ‘ticket sales by the Oakland Raiders’. Amy, as in the past spiced up the live auction with suprise bid items.

Also in attendance to honor Nnamdi were Hall of Famer and Nnamdi’s coach Willie Brown along with his wife Yvonne and nephew Jay just back for Iraq. Coach Martindale and son. Giving the invocation, Raider great, tackle Robert Jenkins. Deacon Jenkins held a moment of silence to honor George ‘Run Run’ Jones and Craig Long. Fellow teamates and friends celebrating with Nnamdi included: S Stuart Schweigart, LB Kirk Morrison, DE Akbar Gbaja-Bjamila and LB Isaiah Ekejiuba. On behalf of teamate DB Chris Carr his mom, Kathy Hernandez and Al Hernandez and finance Sarah Lane.Special thanks to Chris Gargano and Crew, producer and host the Raiders Report for his coverage of the event.
